Valuable Lessons of My Life

by: Cbah Nusija

Assalamualaikum and hey everyone! As you guys read from the title, this entry is meant to clarify the most valuable (or important) lessons I have learned in my 20 years life.

As human beings, we are imperfect as we cannot run away from tests, hardship, love, hate, excitements and challenges. Allah has created barriers and obstacles to test our faith. He gave in on the allegations, He presents the various types of assistance and facilities to His creatures. We should always be a grateful slave and always try to change ourselves towards a better way. In Shaa Allah :)

For the whole 20 years of my life (so far), a lot of things have happened. It is either good or bad, its always comes and goes. But here are the most valuable and important lessons I have learned from people who come and go from my life.

1) Be Friendly, Yet Sparingly

Once, I was an alone ranger. I always be alone almost all the time except when doing a pair work. At one point, a teacher scolds me for my goods.

"Be you a friends, but a friends with manner. Do not love your friends more than the your love to Allah. Do not turn away from society because human are created as brothers and sisters, helping and completing each other."

From the moment, I slowly change my attitude towards other people. My heart whisper:

'Allah, I have been selfish all the way. Forgive me. Ease my way.'

I began to reach out to the community, to get out from my prejudice and isolation. I'm started to be friends, to be in the community, to talk nicely and properly because I think, someday I will need them in my life, and they will need me too. We basically need each other. Starting from that moment too, the point of departure, I began to diligently smile (even though it is just a mere grinning).

2) Be Honest, Be Yourself
This verse is very snapping the very deep of heart. As I understand this quotes well, we must be honest with ourselves because no one wants to believe in people who do not believe in themselves. Just be yourself will do great, as what we want to be and not as what people want to see us to be. We are the owner of our own, so keep after power. Give others the very good and confident side of ourselves.
YOU are you when you are being yourself.
YOU are you because you are not a human doll.
YOU are you as long as you are honest and be yourself.
so, BE HONEST, BE YOURSELF.

3) Patience is a Powerful Weapon

It is through that PATIENCE is a powerful weapon. Thou patience is bitter, but the fruits is sweet. Patience is a part of faith. those who remain patient is strong, while the forgiving one is a great guy. In an usrah during my school days, I heard this verse and it had a profound effect on me, which has a relatively low level of patience. My uncontrolled tempered attitude that no one ever thought I was dealing with, getting low day by day. Thanks for those who remain patience with me, advised me faithfully, who reminded me of the verse that leads me over this awareness. Indeed patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

Bermaksud: "Wahai orang yang beriman! Bersabarlah kamu dan kuatkanlah kesabaran kamu.
dan bersedialah serta bertakwalah kepada Allah supaya kamu Berjaya"

4) Whatever Happens, Keep Smile, Its Sunnah.

Our life will never away from Allah tests. There are one day when I feel totally doomed. It is during my SPM trial. As I never getting in love with Additional Mathematics (or Add Math) subject, I feel really burdened by the responsibility given by our homeroom teacher. She really put her hope high upon the rope to see us success in SPM with flying colours. However, I'm the only one who did not doing well (even failed many times for this subjects). It keeps in an uncomfortable zone as I do not want to be left out as a FAIL students.

One time, my homeroom teacher made a little talk with me. She said;

"Jangan sedih. Cuba lagi. Ikhlaskan diri untuk belajar kerana Allah. Cari keredhaan Allah dalam pelajaran melalui doa dan restu ibu bapa, cikgu dan kawan-kawan. Walau apa pun yang jadi, baik buruknya Allah dah tentuka. Whatever happens, keep smiling. Senyum kan SUNNAH."

Yeah, with that great advice, DUIT (Doa, Usaha, Ikhtiar, Tawakal) I'm successfully getting an A+ for Additional Mathematics. Thanks Allah! Thanks Mak, Abi! Thanks Cikgu Faridah! Thanks my dearest friends for teaching and lecturing the stubborn me. Huuhuuu.. **Feeling thankful, terharu**

Although there are a lot more lessons I have learned throughout my 20 years of lifetime, but these are the very most important and valuable. Thanks for every people come and go from my life, each of them bring a great experiences and lessons for me. :)
